I love the look of Merry, post-toothbrushing. Her entire attitude seems to say: “Fine, fine, I submitted, you got your way, can I get down now? Sheesh.” Poor little pug baby.

Most books on raising pugs will tell you how much they hate having their folds cleaned. This is generally true, although the princess usually manages to get into it, pushing her face against my hand for all she’s worth. But tooth cleaning? Forget it. I try hard to make sure we brush at least three times a week, but it’s a struggle every time. (It’s amazing how a tiny little pug can manage to evade a strong-willed adult holding a toothbrush with nothing more than her ability to keep ducking and bobbing her head around.) Luckily, she’s teeny enough that I can hold her chin in one hand and brush with the other… I bet those with bigger dogs have a much bigger nightmare on their hands!

The princess, this time in focus, wearing her lovely Chanel necklace from Le Prissy Pets. Can we get an AWWW?

We had a lovely long weekend this weekend (Victoria Day in Canada), lazy and chilly but sunny and generally fun. The princess enjoyed the extra attention from two adults not all wrapped up in work!

Another look at the adorable velour jogging suit. The matching collar & leash are from Mrs. Bones.

The princess just looks so cuddly in her jogging suits, I can’t help but put her in them all the time. This velour jogging suit is so soft it’s one of her favorite things to wear.

Merry and I were playing in the backyard the other morning and her hoodie kept slipping up and over one eye. I like to think it makes her look mysterious.

The princess has many, many good sides, but occasionally I manage to snap a photo of her where she looks a good 5 pounds heavier – this is definitely one of those snaps. She looks decidedly cranky about this, too. :)

Another rainy spring day here in Toronto, and the princess donned her cheerful orange raincoat for our morning walk. It cheers me up considerably, as well as nearly everyone we run into on the street.

Closeup of my favorite girl’s smile. :)
