daily(ish) photos of the princess pug

Merry using the Force to will the ball into the air. She often uses these Jedi mind tricks on her mommy. And wouldn’t you know it, they often work. Who could resist, I ask you… who?

The princess doing her pensive thing in front of some really cool black & white bricks in our neighbourhood. I’m always on the schniff for new and cool backdrops for the world’s most photogenic pug. ;)

With the amount of licking that a single pug can accomplish in a day, it’s a wonder I don’t have more photos of the princess with tongue extended. But she’s sneaky, like a snake – when the camera comes out, the tongue usually goes back in.

Somehow, closeups of the princess look even better when I’m shooting black & white. Or perhaps I just see her differently with no color to distract. :)

Managed to catch the puppy going midair for a ball the other morning. I loved the balance, and somehow it looked even cooler in black & white, which I was shooting at the time.

Merry had a play date on Sunday with her friends Skura and Izzy. These two little pups (a Japanese chin and a teacup Yorkie) weren’t exactly used to being offleash without being totally enclosed, and gave their Mom and human sister one heck of a chase before we finally ended up keeping them leashed. You’ll notice who has the biggest grin – since it meant nearly all the fetch was for her. (Longtime readers will remember Skura from her visit with us a couple of years ago – you can see photos of her here and here.)

The princess trying on one of my tapestry dining room chairs, wearing her lovely rhinestone necklace.

The princess, ever-so-anxiously awaiting the release of the ball, shaking her fanny in the air for all to see. Funny pug.

They say the eyes are the window to the soul. Tell me, what do you see in these little peepers? I know what I see, but then I’m just highly biased… :)

I love the coloring on a pug (it’s one of the few things I don’t like about black pugs). The variations in the coloring, the wrinkles and folds… they all combine to make a unique little snowflake of a pug that’s very dear.
