daily(ish) photos of the princess pug

She was so cute rolling around on the red blanket, wanting to play – see the grin and the wild eye, always a sign of a pug ready for vigorous belly rubbings and legs in the air. :)

My fiance and I went “to market” on Saturday and one of the wonderful things about St. Lawrence Market is that one of the butchers there sells huge smoked beef bones. The princess is WILD about these stinky, messy things and she will literally spend HOURS on them (this bone – 8+ hours so far, with refrigeration in between, since obviously that was over a couple of days). She ignores everything when wrapped up in a bone – even ignores human mealtimes and food prep, which any good pug owner will tell you can never happen. It’s messy, and we need to practically bleach the pug afterwards she’s so stinky, but it’s wonderful to see her so happy!

I don’t know whether it’s the lack of sun or just the fact that it’s January, traditional month of hibernation and comfort food, but the pug and I (and the rest of the household) have just been so sleepy lately. As the pug says, want weekend! Hope yours is sleep-filled and happy.

I love the “harrumph”-y look she gets on her face sometimes when I’m trying to take her picture. The essence of bare patience. :)

The princess pug, surrounded by just a few of her many, many (many!) balls, working her Jedi Mind-trick mojo on me, trying to make me throw the ball. Can you believe I could be so cruel as to not play with her constantly? Sheesh. :)

I love catching the pug mid-shake. What a little spaz. :)

Don’t you just have to saw “awww”?
We got tagged by SpilltoJill, who asked this question:
“if you could spend 30 days in one location (and only one location) anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?”
For me, the hands-down answer would be Italy. No, I’ve never been but it’s where we’re hoping to take our honeymoon. Ancient architecture, incredible food, dramatic people and a truly beautiful language… I can’t imagine a better combination. :)
To continue this wee line (started by Cowbelly) I’ll tag: Bringing Up Shelby, Laura at Embrace Pet Insurance and A Sweet Dog – sorry for only tagging three but I don’t really read a lot of personal blogs these days folks. :)

I love the way her tiny velvet black ears are just visible above the hood. ;) Flickr members, you can see a larger version of this image here.

Merry loved testing out her iChew toys this month – and even managed to stay still long enough for me to get a shot of these (not included) headphones tucked into her ears. :)
(Apologies to those of you who follow us on Flickr, since I posted this there a day or two ago.)
