I apologize in advance for any awwww-tastic events which might occur during the viewing of this photo, especially any ones that cause coronary explosion. But seriously she’s so cute I can’t help myself.

Merry and I wish each and every one of you a fab summer weekend. I’m on vacation for a chunk of next week – sorrrrrrrrely needed, I can’t begin to tell you – so Merrylog posts might be few and far between. We’ll have lots to share when we get back into work mode, though!

the chairs

Oh, how I love these chairs. We call ‘em Muskoka chairs up here – named after our cottage country – and I understand in the US they call ‘em Adirondack chairs (presumably, for the same reason). These are just cheapies, not the ones that cost hundreds of dollars, but I love the wood and flaky paint and firm feel and wide arms fabulous for a book and a glass of lemonade.

That is, if we ever get summer up here! It’s been rainy and cold most of the month – my tomatoes are already turning red all over from the cool! Crazy!

When you’re short, and have a flat little face, you end up shoving it into a million different and interesting places during the course of a day.

It’s easier on your humans to NOT THINK NOT THINK NOT THINK about where you’re putting your face, and what gross things might be there.

Yes, sweetheart – it’s called wrinkles, and they’re delicious. Thank you for playing.

can i have a carrot?

Pug, translated: Look, Mommy, I know you have carrots in your pocket. I can smell them. I heard you chopping them before we went for our walk. Why are you torturing me? Can’t you see I need a carrot? Don’t I deserve a carrot? I really like carrots. Did I mention that? Can I have a carrot?

She makes me laugh. Every day.

Plus, the pug would like to wish her Grandpa a happy 66th birthday. :) Happy birthday, Dad! (Yes, he checks on the pug every day. Isn’t that cute?)

We had much fun wrassling on her bed this morning. A little bit of fun before getting to the daily grind. :)

all about the ball

Oh, my crazy girl, she does so love to play. She doesn’t have quite as much energy as she did when she was two (and for that I’m very thankful – because she was exhausting!) but she’s still All About The Ball. Any ball. If it rolls and she can sniff it out or it makes noise, she’ll push it at you until the cows come home. Not that I know where the cows were, exactly, since they’re not exactly jet setters. But you get my point. ;)

There’s a tingle you get… well, *I* get, when you take a really great shot. You just know it. You don’t even have to look at a preview of the photo to know. It doesn’t happen often but when it happens it means it’s a Really Good Day and would you Please Pass The Chocolate. Thank you.

Do other photogs get this? If there are any reading this wee blog, shout out and share your thoughts about The Tingle.

And because you must, (it’s really SO much better bigger) see it larger on Flickr.

I ended up liking this shot better but I looooooved her head tilt in this one. How we got it: her Daddy is standing off camera and asking her if she’d like to go see Grandma and Grandpa?

Ooooooh, the princess does so love her grandparents. :) ‘Course, the fact that they spoil her rotten may be, you know, a contributing factor.

Wedding countdown: 59 days till the big day. If I survive that long. :)

It’s been strange weather outside – cool, sometimes rainy, then suddenly humid as heck. Mostly, the pug and I have been playing upstairs on the third floor where it’s sunny, there’s lots of carpet for traction, great light, and far fewer bugs than in the park. :)
