so long, 2009

It’s been a crazy year! For many, it’s been a tough one as well. I think most of us – myself included, despite the wonderfulness of marrying the man I love – are glad to see 2009 go and excited to see what 2010 will bring. To each of you, we hope you have a fabulous New Year and a stupendously superb I-need-to-share-chocolate-with-you kind of 2010.

The New Year Merrylog is an annual tradition – see the photos from 2008, 2007 and 2006.

She looked so pretty on Christmas Eve hanging out in front of all the presents, I had to grab my camera. Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas! We’ll see you more in the new year. (Vacation is a lovely thing.)

Merry Christmas to all from the entire Pampered Puppy team – especially Merry, princess pug, Christmas diva extraordinaire and the little lady who so warms all of our hearts, especially mine. May your holiday season be warm, safe and filled with cheer.

Irregular postings next week as I am taking some long-needed time off. But I’ll share photos from our Christmas with the pug as I get the chance!

Isn’t she hysterical?

I wish I’d had time this year to shoot her in her entire collection of holiday garb – I’m a crazy avid collector of collars, hats, outfits, and Christmas toys for the pug. But this outfit – found at a local gift store a few years ago, of all places – has been my longtime favorite. It’s so cute!

Yes, it’s finally time to drag out the Truly Staggering collection of Christmas collars, hats, jewelry and more and subject our readers to Incessant Pug Christmasification. Guaranteed to delight and astound. :) More tomorrow, but for now…

Yes, Virginia, there is a wallpaper of this image available on DoggyDesktops!

You love me.

All decked out in her Santa coat on walkies this morning. Isn’t she adorable?

I can’t believe how behind I am in holiday shopping this year. I still have so many prezzies to buy!

I should just give everyone chocolate. But I just can’t allow myself to give chocolate away to others.

by the tree

Pretty little pug by the Christmas tree. The pug’s a little more scared of the tree than in previous years, since she isn’t completely sure where anything is in the house just yet. However, she is slowly learning how to descend these stairs (they’re uncarpeted, which means we have to stand in front to keep her from slipping), jump off the couch and beds, and generally find her way around the house. She’s much improved from last week and is even autonomously playing with toys again – a good sign indeed! :)

…you sit bolt upright at 6am and say to your husband: “Gosh golly gee whiz I forgot to put the Merrylog picture up yesterday!” only with a lot more swearing. :)

I’m SO sorry I’ve been neglecting this wee blog the past few days and depriving you all of your Merry goodness. I promise to work harder this week and next to bring you Christmas-themed goodness of the princess pug just in time for the holidays.

P.S. If you haven’t bought your Merry 2010 calendar yet, it’s not too late – though it’s getting close! At $19.95 it’s a steal and you can enjoy the gorgeous little princess for a full twelve months. ;)

about the brown sheets

Some of you have been wondering how I’ve managed to keep the beautiful brown sheets pug-hair-free. To you, I say:

Are you on CRACK? :) Of course there’s pug hair on the bed!

Luckily, I’m a brilliant photographer who knows how to hide such things with angles and focus and, when all else fails, a little healing brush tool. I tried to keep she-who-must-shed off the dark brown sheets for a few months after I got them, but then I gave up. So our bed has dog hair on it, but luckily it doesn’t always show up in photos. It helps that Merry doesn’t sleep all night on the bed but only comes up when we get up in the morning. :)

in the cave

Once the world’s most determined morning person, the princess pug is now a determined sleeper-inner; I’m lucky to rouse her from bed by 11 am most days. While she usually sleeps in one of her two (!) dog beds in the bedroom, every morning we lift her up to snuggle with us briefly and then bury her in a pile of pillows and blankets, creating a lovely cave that keeps her happy and sleepy all morning long.

Plus, look – light over our bed! A whole new angle to shoot the princess pug from. :)
