As you probably know, I started PamperedPuppy.com in 2002 and within two years was running it full time. While I have loved every single minute of my time at Pampered Puppy, I’ve found myself craving additional challenges. Last year, I started a professional photography business, hoping it would both complement the work I was doing at Pampered Puppy and give me the challenge I sought, but the truth is it was never as satisfying as I’d hoped.
It was time, then, to accept that I need these challenges and go about finding them. I’m happy to report that I have found that challenge: heading up a team running one of the most successful women’s magazine
web sites in Canada.
I’m starting that position next Monday, May 10th.
However, that does mean some changes around here. While I have staff on hand to keep up the regular daily workings going for a while, the reality is that no ship can survive without a full time captain for long… so I will be actively pursuing a buyer for the company.
What happens to Merrylog? Well, that’s a good question. Short term – for the next few months – it means fewer postings around here. I promise to try to get you lovely Merry goodness at least a couple of times each week, daily posting may not be reasonable given the demands on my time.
Long term – I will keep you updated once I have more of an idea what will happen with the sale of the company. I may keep Merrylog separate, and keep it as my own “thing” on the side, or it may become part of the sale… I just don’t know at this point.
What CAN I promise?
1. I’ll keep you all updated. When I know, you’ll know.
2. I will continue to post just as often as I can.
I won’t lie – it’s going to be hard to leave little Merry every day. I’ve been working from home since she was 2 years old. I’ll miss the little spud like you won’t believe. But this is what will make me happy, folks, and I need to go ahead and pursue that.
It’s not goodbye – many more posts to come – but I wanted to let y’all know what was going on. Hugs.
