The princess and I actually went to the park today and, for a bare few minutes while tempting her with her favourite treats, I de-coned her so I could get a photo of that gorgeous little face. As you can see, she still has plenty of attitude. :)
The “bad part” of her eye is in the right eye (the left one, in this photo). The white halo you see at the far edge is the ulcer. All of the red you see at the top is blood and blood vessels coming in from all corners of the eye to heal the ulcer. While the white part seems to be spreading a little, the main wound itself is nearly healed – just another few weeks, the doctor thinks.
Hopefully. In pug vet world, things can change on a dime and have more than once so far!
I’m going to try to get better at posting photos and updates, folks, but the reality is she’s still on 4+ hours of eye med routine a day. That plus our normal routine doesn’t leave a lot of extra time! :) Bear with me, things will get better as the eye finishes healing and her med routine settles down.
As always, thank you to every single one of you reading, emailing, and posting comments. You’re all Support Rockstars and Merry, her daddy and I all appreciate it so much!

WOOT, MERRYWEATHER! This woman and the pug are enjoying your moment of freedom You’re almost there, girl!
Love, love, love this sassy photo of Miss Merry! Merry and Payton are like twins…Payton had an ulcer in her right eye and now the whitish scar remains, and Payton has two white whiskers on her left cheek. But I must say that Payton has gone more grey in the mug than Merry…must be good genes! Ha! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Love,
Payton and mom, Christy
PS. We so enjoy Merry, so we’ll take whatever posts you have time for…but don’t worry about us and just enjoy your wonderful life together!
PPS. So glad that Merry is on the mend and got a cone-break (with treats)!
We love Merry’s un-coned photo! She sure is a beauty. We are keeping you guys in our thoughts for good healing vibes!
Drools and licks,
Minnie and Mack
beautiful with or without the cone….so happy her beautiful eyes are recovering.
all, please pray for my darling little pug joey. joey is a 9 yr old black pug that i rescued at the age of 3 months, and i love him more than life itself. his liver enzymes were elevated and further testing is needed. clinically, he looks great, so we are not extremely worried right now. he will have a “bile acids” test in 2 weeks, and those results will tell the tale. if they are still elevated, he may have a liver shunt, which is not good news; but i pray daily for faith to come in and fear to go out. st francis and i have been having multiple conversations daily.
blessings to all……………..
Love Merry and love you guys for taking such good care of her. Bless all of you!
As usual Angie – amazing photo! Love the colours and the sharpness of the grass blades on her furry little mug. She is one gorgeous girl :) Perfect picture, just love it!
