halloween 2012

It wouldn’t be Halloween without sharing a photo of the pug all dolled up for the holiday! This year’s festive outfit included a skeleton onesie and a fabulous skirt with purple trim – seriously, seriously cute. The puglet LOVED coming to the door for every kiddo that came knocking for candy. Want a historical look at the puglet with the most costumes? Here’s a Pinterest board with all of her Halloween photos and costumes over the years.

happy fall, pretty pug!

I know, I know, those of you who still pay any attention to Merrylog are falling over in your chairs right now with three posts in one week. I’m on a roll. Let’s not talk any more about it or we may jinx it. ;)

The pug and I both love fall: she loves it for the leaves, I love it for the dozens of sweaters and outfits that I can wriggle that cute little pug bod into. Fall walks make both of us happy.

As you can see, while lack of eyesight has limited the pug’s ability to track and find the ball, it has in no way diminished her love of fetch. She and I play most evenings while I cook dinner. You can’t kick the ball as far as you used to, and much more verbal encouragement is needed, but it lets her get her “grr” out and have fun and get a little bit of exercise.

Now all I need is a human to play fetch with me so I can do the same! *grin*

Merry’s bestie, Lola, popped by a couple of weeks ago to hang out and try on Halloween costumes. The pug of war costume was the clear winner, though wee Lola doesn’t seem so sure. :) Trust us, Lola, you’ll get waaaaay more attention from your adoring public with this getup on!

The lovely mom of Payton, who passed away earlier this year, was also visiting us that day. If you have not yet read Payton’s story, I strongly encourage you to do so. If you know of anyone struggling with a diagnosis of PDE (pug dog encephalitis), this is the place to send them for more information as well as better understanding.
