one last Christmas post

pug in elf hat

I literally cannot believe that tomorrow is the last day of 2011. How did that happen? It has been such an insane year that I feel like I’ve missed most of it! However – thanks to all of your kind comments over the past few days – I have finally finished processing a couple of more holiday shots of the princess pug just in time for… New Year’s Eve. Le sigh! Since she is an extra adorable elf this year, we hope you find ‘em worth waiting for. ;)

Well, I didn’t quite get it up before the fat man in the red suit came to town, but I did at least secure one shot of the princess pug in her Santa coat and candy cane collar and leash set. I hope to get a few more of her later today in front of the tree, so hopefully this won’t be your only dose of Merry Christmas (ha).

It was so wonderful to get all of your kind comments to the last photo! Honestly, I’ve been so remiss with the blog since Merry’s eye issues began in June that I’d feared we’d lost all of our readers. :)

The pug had a lovely, fun-filled holiday with new collars and treats and toys and many many people paying attention to her, feeding her on the sly, and generally making sure she felt like the pampered princess that she is. Hope your holidays were just as wonderful!

If yer Irish (or just Irish for a day, like the pug), we wish you a happy St. Patrick’s Day. The pug will even get a taste of the Irish treats gracing our table tonight – colcannon and pork chops. However, the chocolate Guiness cupcakes with Baileys cream cheese frosting will be strictly off limits. ;)

so long, 2010

Our very own Baby New Year! As our regular readers know, the annual New Year’s Eve photo is a tradition around here. You can check out previous year’s photos: 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006… and no, that is not a real diaper. That’s a white napkin that my husband (father to two) “diapered” onto the pug for me to shoot. ;)

May your new year be fabulous! (Is this image too big for your computer? See a smaller version on Flickr.)

It’s the wee hush of Christmas morning, that time when all magical things could and might still happen. It’s quiet but I couldn’t sleep; apparently I’m still like a little kid when it comes to Christmas and I tossed and turned all night, as I do most Christmas Eves. Seemed like a good time to sneak downstairs, open my computer and give the gift of a puglike Christmas to all of you. May your day be Merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be white. Many hugs from Merry and I.

She has been so cute on her walks – clearly, she is my pug, because we’re both pretty clear about the fact that winter has come far too early this year. Still, it does look pretty for the holidays.

This photo reminded me a great deal of this, similar, winter shot – one of what I consider to be Merry’s most “iconic” shots of all time. :)

Still more holiday-themed images to come! Stay tuned – and stay warm out there as we count down to Christmas! Two more sleeps!

holiday walkies

Merry and I went for a lovely walk in the park yesterday. Since it’s just ONE week until Santa comes, the princess was in her Christmas hoodie with Candy Cane collar and leash, natch. She does love walking around in this weather – saying hi to folks who flirt with her, mostly – but oh, does she not like to do her business once there’s snow on the ground. It can take twice as long – or longer – to get her to take care of business during the winter. Sigh.

Many of you have been asking about Merry Calendars…

Sometimes she’s just so funny I have to take the shot. The expression on her little face when I put this hat on her was priceless. I literally could NOT get a different expression from her even with offering treats – she was unimpressed by this hat (although she’s worn it other years) and wanted me to know it. :)

Even as a grump, she’s a cute little elf!

Yes, folks, that time of year is here again – the one where I barrage each of you with hundreds of holiday-themed photos of the princess. As you can see, she is and always will be my favourite Christmas present ever. :)

one last Halloween pug

I couldn’t resist sharing just one last photo of the lovely princess in her Halloween costume. We went over to the park to hang out earlier that day and this was the result. She garnered a lot of “awww”s. :)
